Description
Kids Club in Jefferson County is looking for Program Assistant interns for our after-school program. Interns will work with kids ages 5 and up by supervising them, helping with homework and ensuring their safety while at Kids Club. Program Assistants will provide a safe and fun place where kids can reach their full potential. 
 
Engaging with kids in the Kids Club program is a major part of our operations and Program Assistants should be willing to participate.  Program Assistants are also responsible for helping where needed which could include but is not limited to: de-escalating conflicts with kids, cleaning and sanitizing spills or accidents, monitoring snack time, escorting students off the busses, supervising play on the playground, helping with structured activities or arts and crafts during rotations, supervising the game room, helping with homework, assisting with front desk tasks of check in and check out, and answering phones.  
 
We are open after school from 2:15 pm - 5:00 pm, and on non-school days and holiday breaks, we are open 7:30 am - 5:00 pm (not on federal holidays). Kids Club follows inclement weather decisions for closure from Jefferson County School District.
 
Educational Aspect
Program Assistants will learn communication with the kids they are supervising as well as with coworkers and supervisors.  They will also learn how to work with kids and follow a schedule. 
 
Further Requirements
Complete an additional application after applying through Youth CareerConnect.  The YCC Internship Coordinator will provide the application once a student has applied.
 
Lift Requirements
Up to 50 lbs., additional with assistance.
