Description

DCHS’ Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP) is seeking a college-level intern or recent graduate for November 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, to assist with tobacco prevention projects in Bend, OR.

Projects include:

·         Assisting TPEP with the development and implementation of a community assessment project.  Intern activities may include:

  • Survey development.
  • Data collection.
  • Quantitative data management.
  • Assisting with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and summarizing results.
  • Development of policy briefs and other reports.
Educational Aspect

Opportunity to strengthen public health skills with experiences working with data collection and analysis, public speaking, policy development, and advocacy. 

Further Requirements

Internship Specific Considerations:

  • Housing is the responsibility of the intern.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Must be able to work most days in Bend, OR.
  • Tentative start date: November 1st, 2022.
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a current college student or recent graduate in Public Health or a related field in community health sciences.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional behavior and appearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data collection, management, and analysis.
  • General interest in substance misuse prevention.
