Description |
The 21st Century Community Learning Program is hiring Jefferson County School District 509J students to assist with activity stations, student supervision, assisting teachers as needed, helping with homework, and working with and tutoring students in grades K-8 during in-person programming.
Tutors will work after school Monday - Thursday until 5:30 p.m. Monday morning shifts from 8:15 - 10:15 a.m. are optional.
Locations: Jefferson County Middle School and Warm Springs K-8 Academy
*JCMS Peer Tutors can ride a bus from an elementary school to JCMS on Monday - Friday afternoons. Monday morning Peer Tutors will be responsible for getting themselves to JCMS. However, they can ride the bus to their school Monday mornings after the program is done.
*Warm Springs K-8 Academy Peer tutors would be responsible for getting themselves to WSK8 on Monday mornings. Monday - Friday, however, they could ride the bus home after the program is done.

Educational Aspect |
Peer Tutors will grow their communication skills, level of responsibility by supervising K-8th grade students, follow directions given and follow through with the task they're given. Peer Tutors will expand their own knowledge as they tutor students in various classroom subjects. At times, Peer Tutors may be working with multiple students at various grade levels at the same time so you will learn how to multi-task. |
Further Requirements |
- Must be a Jefferson County 509J High School Student; 15 years of age and older.
- Must demonstrate good academics and behavior records.
- Application Procedures: Interested candidates are required to apply through the Jefferson County 509J School District Website. To be considered as an Internship Applicant through Youth CareerConnect, students must work with Debbie Taylor, the Jefferson County Internship Coordinator, to create a YCC profile, resume, and Data Release in addition to completing the application on the school district website. |
