If you enjoy working outdoors, with customers, and with plants, trees, and shrubs, then this Nursery Worker position is for you!
As a Nursery Worker-
- You'll have the opportunity to provide customer service to patrons by assisting them with plants, trees and shrubs, giving them as much information as possible, or guide them to another coworker if you don't know the answer to the question being asked.
- Plants need water and this position will include quite a bit of that and at times an early morning watering schedule will happen when the weather gets warmer.
- Guidance will be given for fertilizing on the set schedule.
- Weeding of potted plants, the nursery yard, and the display bed.
- Deadheading plants (removing expired blooms).
- Moving plant material, straightening retail products, and making tags all face forward for customers to view.
- Transplanting or reducing the size of plants on an as-needed basis.
- Cross-training as a cashier and potentially for social media and advertising.

| Educational Aspect |
Organization, plant appearance maintenance, greeting customers, cashier experience, following directions, work independently and with coworkers, being a self-starter and taking direction, and completing the work that is given to you.

| Further Requirements |
- Reliable transportation to get to/from The Madras Garden Depot for the scheduled shift.
- Previous plant experience and knowledge is a plus. Training will be provided.
- Nursery Workers will have a one-week probationary period to ensure the opportunity is a good fit for the work.

Up to 30 lbs., occasionally 45+ lbs. will be lifted with another coworker.
