Description |
We are looking to hire Summer Camp Counselors to serve a 3-week term for our 2022 Summer Camp. We are running Summer Camp from July 3rd - August 31st. Cabin Counselors will supervise a cabin of 8-10 youth for the week. Applicants will also lead daily camp-specific activities and help supervise afternoon recreation. Each Cabin Counselor will be paired with a staff mentor who will support them throughout their 3 weeks at camp. To qualify as a counselor, high school students are required to volunteer for at least 1 of the 2-day sessions of our Spring Outdoor School programming. During the 2 days, they will volunteer at Spring Outdoor School, they will help one of our staff teach science and communication activities to local 5th-grade students as well as be provided extensive training that they will be able to apply to their work at Summer Camp. Volunteering for the Spring Outdoor School does not guarantee a job at Summer Camp but rather the 2 days serve as a "job interview" for their time at Summer Camp. We will begin hiring for Summer Camp in May and they will be given the link to apply after they have volunteered. Summer Camp applications will close in mid-June. |
Educational Aspect |
The Cabin Counselor will gain leadership, public speaking, teaching, and child management skills. |
