Description |
Under direct supervision of a licensed Civil Engineer or licensed Professional Land Surveyor, the Engineering Intern will assist with a variety of basic tasks associated with the design, construction, and/or maintenance of the County's transportation infrastructure and operations of the County Surveyor’s Office. Tasks may include but are not limited to, assisting with review, design, investigation, inspection, permitting, data collection, and report writing. The internship is designed to offer a variety of hands-on experiences. |
Educational Aspect |
Further skills in the use of tools, and software utilized for drafting, inspecting, report writing, and data collection. Use of survey equipment such as a level, total station, and Global Positioning System (GPS) data collectors. |
Further Requirements |
Civil engineering, land surveying, and construction principles, practices, and techniques. Must have knowledge of tools, software, and equipment for drafting, inspecting, report writing, and data collection. Skill in equipment such as a level, total station, and GPS data collectors. Ability to measure objects in the field with tools such as a thermometer, tape measure, rage tape, distance measuring wheel, inclinometer, smart level, and/or GNSS receiver. |
