Description
Mosaic Medical is seeking a qualified Intern to work within and contribute to the Mosaic Development and Communications team.  The internship spans a range of responsibilities in the Development Department including maintaining records, contributing to research projects, and coordinating with volunteers. The Intern position will be focused on assisting the Development Assistant with ongoing projects and the Intern may be asked to attend outreach events with the organization. This internship will be a flex position with scheduled hours where the Intern may work from home, with some hours in the office or at events. This internship offers exciting hands-on experience and the opportunity to gain new skills doing unique outreach and community events for a healthcare nonprofit.
 
Commitment:
- Part-time: Flexible hours 3-8 hours per week for 14 weeks. 
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to deliver on deadlines, minimum 3-4 hours/week up to 4-8 hours per week, with exact days and times to be determined according to the student’s schedule. Some job duties may be done from home, but weekly or biweekly phone or in-person meetings with Mosaic staff will be required.
- College or Graduate students with an emphasis in their studies on English, Communications, Public Relations, Social Work, Political Science, Public Health, or Public and/or Non-profit Administration are encouraged to apply, but all are welcome.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Development Assistant with ongoing research projects including researching and archiving historical records related to the organization.
- Assist in donor stewardship with community organizations including requesting in-kind donations, and arranging receipt of the items.
- Communicate with current and prospective volunteers.
- Assist with certain Communications campaigns, including staff outreach.
- Assist Development staff in event planning and coordination.
- Research projects and initiatives for the Development team.
- Attend outreach events in Central Oregon with Mosaic staff.
- Perform general administrative duties to assist Mosaic Development staff, including general filing and data entry.
- Help create and coordinate the drafting and distribution of promotional materials.
- Strategize unique activities and communications campaigns.
 
Educational Aspect
We want to work with the Intern to orient their work toward a project of interest. However, overall educational takeaways will include the ability to:
 
- Create a compelling social media communications campaign.
- Learn about nonprofit management and donor stewardship.
- Be able to steward community donors and organizations.
- Assist with event planning and coordination.
- Create a historical archive project and learn how to create deliverables on a deadline.
- Conduct staff outreach.
- Learn about CRM (Constituent Relationship Management) systems for nonprofits.
- Strategize unique activities and communications campaigns.
- Conduct community outreach.
- Create and distribute promotional materials.

- Have the self-discipline and time management skills necessary to work independently and from a remote location.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

- Experience with research is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Discretion when dealing with sensitive issues and information.
- An understanding of Mosaic’s programs and interest in its mission.
