Description |
The focus of this temporary position is to create and implement age-appropriate activities for youth in Kindergarten through 6th grade that inspire curiosity about, a sense of belonging in, and awareness of nature. Specifically, the Program Delivery Specialist will be responsible for leading a group of 10, similar-aged youth through a series of outdoor nature progression skills at our Tumalo Day Camp. Additionally, the Specialist will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive environment where all campers feel included and able to lead and learn. As part of delivering the program, the Specialist will get experience in program leadership, positive behavior intervention strategies, and behavior management. |
Educational Aspect |
The specialist will have a direct supervisor and regular meetings to review their progress. Goal setting, feedback, and reflection will be integrated into the commitment with coaching and guidance from their supervisor. The specialist will also be trained in Camp Fire’s “Thriveology” Framework, including the development of growth mindset, goal setting, and the importance of developmental relationships, as well as how to create an inclusive community, develop youth-driven programming, and encourage equitable participation. The specialist will have access to the Camp Fire Learning Lab, an educational resource created and shared by Camp Fire National, with over 25 hours of online courses directly related to the delivery and implementation of quality youth development programs. |
