Description
The Administrative Assistant/Front Desk/Community Health Worker will work closely with all Public Health staff, including medical providers, primary care teams, COIVD-19 contact tracing teams, and other local and tri-county agencies to improve patient care and outcomes. The position is a multi-faceted position that serves as the front line in Public Health. As the initial point of contact for all calls, walk-ins, and appointments, the position reflects the values of service and dedication to the local community. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls. 
• Follow all scripts, policies, and procedures provided by JCPH, and comply with JCPH training regarding confidential information related to personal information.
• Call and communicate, in a professional and empathetic manner
• Provide approved information about Jefferson County Public Health services and available programs. 
• Confirm appointments and assist with scheduling additional appointments. 
• Maintain daily communication with supervisor on activities and tasks.
• Assists with the preparation and submission of required reporting 
• Implements specific work plan objectives.
Educational Aspect

The internship will teach interns the necessary office skills required to support a health-related facility. Multiple phone lines, electronic health records, staff support, multi-tasking, and customer service are all prioritized. Additionally, the basic concepts of Public Health, disease prevention, epidemiology, and the impacts of COVID-19 are stressed as key elements of the position.

Further Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Ability to lift, push or pull up to 30lbs occasionally.
