Description
The caregiver is one of the key employees in our Assisted Living and Residential Care Communities. This position has more contact with the resident than any other. Staff in this position must provide the facility with a continuous stream of information on the resident status, needs, and issues. Caregivers must be alert to changes in resident health, attitude, and need. They must be able to clearly and concisely transfer this information through the system to ensure proper action is taken. The caregiver must be able to adapt to the changing needs of the facility and the resident population at any given point in time.
 
Educational Aspect
For those that are wanting to pursue a career in nursing, this is a great step for them to get their foot in the door and get experience.  Caregiving Interns will be tending to the needs of patients, assist in lifting, moving, and transporting residents, as well as communicate with residents.  Caregivers will assist with housekeeping duties, helping residents dress, serve food, escalate resident concerns, and document needs/concerns in a computer system.
