Description

The Intern’s role is to support the marketing team, including the VP of Marketing, SR. Marketing Manager, Content Manager, and Marketing Coordinator. Primary responsibilities will revolve around the marketing team’s current projects, including content creation (creative assets), PR efforts, advertising (digital and print), digital development (website), and industry relations. This will include daily, weekly, and long-term brand tasks.

The ideal candidate has effective communication skills and is able to work independently. We’re looking for someone who can collaborate with the marketing team and voice their ideas and opinions during the brainstorming phase of projects, then take tasks and see them through to completion. This role requires the ability to assist on multiple projects simultaneously and a willingness to pivot when one project takes precedence over another.

JOB DUTIES:

Content Creation

    • Edit various content pieces, including but not limited to the annual Travel Guide, Wedding Guide, and Dining Guide, along with all website content.
    • Coordinate outreach and logistics of special projects including photoshoots/video shoots, giveaways, and more.
    • Organization and maintenance of the visual marketing software platform for photos and videos.
    • Assist in creating assets for social media and reporting on results.

Digital Development

    • Assisting with ongoing website merchandising, including seasonal refreshes.
    • Work with outside agencies and vendors to complete tasks related to the website.
Educational Aspect
The Intern will learn all facets of destination marketing: from website development and maintenance, to social media and PR, to content creation, data analysis and more. As well as develop a greater understanding of the tourism industry and tourism's role as an economic driver for Central Oregon's economy.

Further Requirements
    • An interest in Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Marketing Communications, Tourism, Business, Communications, or a relevant field of study.
    • Comfortable working or able to learn Google Sheets/docs/shared folders.
    • Ability to manage multiple initiatives at once and deliver on deadline.
    • Self-motivated and comfortable with autonomy and driving initiatives.
