JOB SUMMARY

The Technology Support Intern performs a wide variety of diagnostic inspections and repairs on computer hardware and software, as well as peripheral classroom technology. In addition, this team member assists with inventory, device enrollment, and general technology maintenance. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Install software, image computers, and enroll student devices.
      • Complete routine maintenance on technology equipment.
      • Maintain databases including inventory, login records, and work orders.
      • Train staff on basic troubleshooting, utilizing technology equipment and teach them how to use software.
      • Respond to a high volume of technology work order (tickets) requests while providing excellent customer service.
      • Provide hardware and network support to students and staff.
      • Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.  
      • Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
      • Attend work regularly and be dressed appropriately.
      • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Educational Aspect

Interns become part of our team from day one. They will learn all the processes we do over the summer to prepare for next year's school year. Computer information systems application, inventory management, hardware maintenance, and installation are all content-related learning to our industry. In addition, they will learn to self-manage their time on projects and work in a collaborative and trusting team that takes care of 15 buildings worth of equipment to run a district.

  Ability to do the following:
      • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
      • Write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
      • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
      • Compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
      • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
      • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
      • Support and maintain standard office applications such as MS Office and Google Apps.
      • Support and maintain hardware such as Chromebooks, desktops, laptops, iPads, and other classroom technology. 
      • Learn and apply computer technology skills rapidly.  
      • Appropriately communicate with students, teachers, administrators and others including vendors.
      • Exercise good judgment and work in an environment with frequent interruptions.  
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School GPA of 2.0 or higher
    • Enrolled in a Redmond School District High School
    • A positive letter of recommendation from a high school staff member
    • At least 16 years of age
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Hold a valid Driver’s License
    • Proven interest in a Technology field
