Bright Wood Corporation has been a family-owned and operated wood manufacturer in Central Oregon since 1957. With three Oregon locations headquartered in Madras, Redmond, and Prineville.
 
We need all types of entry-level and experienced mill workers in our Cutting, Finger joint, Molding, and Lamination departments.  These millwork positions start out learning the methods of grading and stacking quality products. 
 
Bright Wood is a performance-based, versus seniority-based, employer and as a result, your advancement opportunities are all up to you and your self-drive.  Working safely, producing a quality product, being here on time, ready to go every day, and learning all aspects of machinery and equipment that you work with, are all vital to your advancement.
 
We have full-time internships for grading, forklifts, operators, and leaders.  Wages are determined by your skillset and experience. 
 
Bright Wood offers a full range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, AFLAC, life insurance, long-term disability, and as well as a 401K for retirement.  Other benefits include college reimbursement for your children, sick leave after 90 days, vacation time after 6 months, and paid holidays after 30 days. 
 
 
Educational Aspect
Millwork interns start out learning the methods of grading and stacking quality products that customers order.  You will learn and follow all the safety standards, learn about manufacturing, TQM (Total Quality Management-you manage the process of your workstation), and communication which is key with coworkers and supervisors. 
 
Further Requirements
-Must know how to read a tape measure down to the 16th.
-Attend a new employee orientation in the first two weeks of starting the position.
-Computer knowledge and experience are a plus.
 
Lift Requirements
Lift up to 35 lbs., larger lumber will be lifted with an additional person.
