Essential Job Functions
- Pull materials from library shelves based on the paging list.
- Place materials on the library cart and deliver to circulation for scanning and to fulfill holds.
- Sort and arrange books on carts to get ready for shelving books, magazines, and CDs according to appropriate alphanumerical classification order.
- Align and arrange books on shelves to maintain neatness and order.
- Locate materials on library shelves reported on the missing list with matching barcodes.
- Using the RFID wand to scan for missing materials.
- Place materials on the library cart and deliver to circulation.
- Provides prompt, courteous, and direct assistance to all patrons at the library's service desk. Such assistance includes, but is not limited, to circulation, simple references, technical help, and referrals.
- Checks in library materials and routes items to the proper locations, including items received via courier.
- Works with library patrons with a wide variety of backgrounds, capacities, needs, and experiences to direct them to specific areas of the library or an appropriate staff member.
- Assists with events.
