Description |
Bright Wood Corporation: family-owned and operating in Central Oregon as a Wood Manufacturer since 1957, we have three Oregon locations headquartered in Madras, Oregon, and secondary operations in Redmond, and most recently Prineville, Oregon (the Old Pioneer mill).
This is a float position between a Cut Stock Stacker and a Molder Feeder. You will be trained in both areas and placed where you are needed.
As a Cut Stock Stacker, you will be stacking small blocks, all the way up to seven-foot long boards, and making sure knots are not on edges and pieces have 4SG (four sides good), known as edge Wayne. You will be responsible for grading inbound lumber as it is stacked.
As a Molder Feeder, you will feed material into a re-saw or a molder, check the correct length, cut bands on units, and make sure the material is correct for the order you are running/processing.
In both of these positions, interns will be trained on: safety practices - which is a condition of employment and processes of the job. You will attend monthly safety meetings, and uphold the expectation of safety practices at all times.
With these roles, low absenteeism is a standard. Attendance is expected and any days off must be communicated at least a week to two weeks prior. Bright Wood has the understanding that urgent needs arise and you may need to be gone on short notice. Advanced notice is expected.
