Description |
- Conduct archaeological surveys, monitoring, and excavation in support of cultural resources management fieldwork.
- Use electronic and traditional navigational equipment (GPS, iPad, compass, transit, etc.) to orient yourself and perform fieldwork - Record and photograph cultural resources identified in the field including artifacts, ecofacts, features, excavation units, land use, landscapes, historic structures, unique environmental features, archaeological sites - Record accurate, organized, and clear field notes, maps, drawings, logs, forms, tables, and other project documentation. - Complete project tasks and errands as directed by the Crew Leader or Principal Investigator. - Maintain, organize, and return company-provided field equipment, supplies, and vehicles. - Follow all safety and health guidelines at project work sites. - Travel for extended periods of time if necessary. We offer paid training, as well as hotel and per diem for out-of-town travel.

Educational Aspect |
The field technician intern will learn to use navigational equipment; recording and documenting information in an accurate and organized manner; complete assigned tasks; maintain equipment the intern is responsible for all the while following necessary safety and health guidelines.

Further Requirements |
- Must be willing to work outdoors and able to walk 5-10 miles regularly.
- Hunting, fishing, and gathering are all valid forms of experience.
- The applicant will be required to submit and pass both a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
- Intern will dual enroll with COIC in order to receive a paycheck. The Internship Coordinator will facilitate this process.
