Description

About the Role

The Community Relationship Development Manager is responsible for establishing marketplace relationships that help the growth of School of Ranch.  School of Ranch's primary needs are to recruit trainers/educators for our workshop programs, to secure facilities to hold those workshops, and to drive ticket sales for attendance to the workshops.

You will concentrate on recruiting trainers/educators.  You will be reaching out to local businesses and service providers who would benefit from conducting workshops. For instance, a company that does fence construction and repair might be interested in doing a workshop on repair.  You also will be reaching out to service organizations, religious institutions, and schools.  For instance, social service agencies serving seniors or veterans.

The goal is to develop ongoing partnerships with these organizations, each of whom would benefit from School of Ranch accomplishing its mission.

About School of Ranch

School of Ranch runs live workshops for new property owners put on by experienced locals.  Our mission is to teach the skills of responsible ranching and farming, strengthen communities by building relationships between locals and newcomers, and open pathways to workplace reentry for veterans and others.  School of Ranch was founded in the spring of 2022 and has grown to 120 members.  Our business objective is to implement a successful business model in Central OR, then to scale to 50 other markets in the next three years.

Educational Aspect

What You Will Learn

How to Start a Business.  School of Ranch is a start-up.  You will be able to see and participate in decision-making across a variety of domains, learn to understand the tradeoffs all startups need to make and how to evaluate those options, and how to create operating systems to implement projects and plan for scale.

Personal Growth.  You will be working directly with the founder of School of Ranch, Mark Gross.  Gross has had a diverse and successful career, from taking a software start-up from inception through exit, to serving as President for a global publishing company, to teaching high school, to playing poker professionally.  You will learn how the mind of a successful entrepreneur works, how decisions get made, and relationships get built.
