Internship Overview
  • Hours per week: Typically 4-16 hours (Must adhere to labor laws regarding student’s age)
  • Total Hours:
    • High Schoolers - 1/2 an elective credit for 65 hours of work time
    • College Students – individualized credit is applied
  • Period: 10-12 weeks (variable and can continue if all parties agree)
  • Paid/Unpaid Internship: Employer's discretion (Must adhere to labor laws)
  • Student Age Range: 16-24 years

  • Complete the Internship Request Form providing the details of internship.
  • Review candidates provided by Internship Coordinator
  • Interview selected candidates
  • Communicate the results of interviews to the Internship Coordinator
  • Welcome new Intern commencing Internship
  • Communicate with Internship Coordinator on intern's progress
  • Complete periodic evaluations

Recently, Robert partnered with Youth CareerConnect to grow his emerging workforce by hiring an Office Assistant Intern and hopes to hire another intern for his warehouse in the near future as his business continues to ship seeds around the world.

Camp Tamarack Area: Regional

Camp Tamarack is known in Central Oregon for their Outdoor School and Summer Camp programs.  Their programs take place in a serene setting that is nestled in the Ponderosa pines outside of Sisters, Oregon, above Suttle Lake.  If you ask a Central Oregonian if they have been to or heard of Camp Tamarack, you are sure to get a positive response to their experiences, Camp Tamarack is sure to not disappoint your expectations of learning in the great outdoors.  Camp Tamarack continues to support youth of Central Oregon and recently connected with Youth CareerConnect to help them find a Program and Teaching Intern for their virtual program.  They hired not one, but two interns from Jefferson County to help them implement their current curriculum for schools across Central Oregon that begins February 2021!

Mia Sprouts Early Child Development Center Area: Redmond

Mia's Sprouts Early Child Development Center is a preschool and daycare located in downtown Redmond.  It was founded in 2016 by Martha Isela.  It is a result of a lifetime of experiences and education that made her realize that her lifelong passion was teaching.  Her team is committed to providing more than just supervision of children. Their goal is to help foster a passion and a love of learning.  Because of their direction and passion for helping our kids grow into young adults Mia's Sprouts has teamed up with Youth CareerConnect and accepted two students to do internships and assist in their companies rapid growth.
