Description
Program Overview:
Tech Camps are half-day camps for youth in 2nd-5th grades.  These small camps of 12 youth, separated into camps for 2nd-3rd grades or 4th-5th grades, are focused on an introduction to LEGO Robotics or learning to code.  The camps run from 2 pm - 5 pm, Monday through Thursday.

All summer camp staff and interns are invaluable members of our team who are role models, motivators, team builders, educators, caregivers, and spark champions.  They facilitate a safe, fun, and confidence-building summer for all our campers.  As part of a dynamic team, they will implement planned curricula, support staff, share ideas, and help to ensure a memorable camp experience for the campers and their families.  We strive to create an environment where each camper and staff member has a sense of belonging, opportunities to share passions and a place to thrive.

Position Overview:
The Tech Camp intern will work closely with the program manager to set up, clean up and deliver the program.  While the activities will be created and scheduled by the manager, the intern is encouraged to share program ideas, build community through games and challenges, and infuse the program with added fun!

Schedule:
Training Dates:   Mid-June or as mutually determined with the manager, exact dates and times are TBD
Camp Sessions: Tech Camps: July 12th - August 19th, Monday-Thursday, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
There may be an additional contract, full or part-time opportunities to work with Camp Fire during the following school year.

Camp Fire’s Statement of Inclusion: Camp Fire believes in the dignity and the intrinsic worth of every human being. We welcome, affirm, and support young people and adults of all abilities and disabilities, experiences, races, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, religion and non-religion, citizenship and immigration status, and any other category people use to define themselves or others. We strive to create safe and inclusive environments that celebrate diversity and foster positive relationships.

Educational Aspect

The educational focus of this program will be building youth development skills and learning effective leadership strategies.  Interns do not need experience with LEGO robotics nor to know how to code, but must have a desire to learn the basics as a co-learner and support for youth.  Interns with experience in coding or Robotics will have an opportunity to share their spark!

With a heavy focus on building relationships, interns will use personal connection and mentorship as ways to expand possibilities for youth.
