Description

Work outside every day and explore new places in the national forests! Outdoor natural resources conservation work on Central Oregon public lands (fencing/caging for habitat restoration, maintaining trails, cleaning campgrounds, hazardous fire fuels reduction, invasive weeds removal, and more.) Each crew of 5 youth and 1 crew leader travel in US Forest Service vehicles to work sites all over the national forest and national grassland to complete work, then return home at the end of each day. 

 

Educational Aspect

Daily work with US Forest Service professionals learning a wide variety of technical skills. Conservation education about projects, career day, and college day.

 

Further Requirements

Must be willing to learn how to work outdoors for 9-hour days. Must be willing to learn new skills and work as a team member to complete tangible projects.

Lift Requirements

Applicants should be able to lift up to 30 lbs, walk on uneven ground, and be able to work a full day outdoors away from amenities (kitchen, bathrooms, etc).
