Description

The intern will assist the Volunteer and Foster Coordinator with daily job responsibilities, more-or-less the ongoing implementation of the current foster care and volunteer programs.  These programs are dynamic and multi-faceted, as well as evolving and growing.  The intern will also receive crossover training; this means he/she will help in other areas as needs present (e.g. kennel upkeep, grooming, intrashelter animal transfers, housekeeping).  Intrinsic to this general description are the specific competencies of safety; coachability; problem solving; effective communication; composure and resiliency; technical skills; and teamwork.  

Educational Aspect

A strengthening of skill sets and the completion of tasks in a thorough and timely manner will be emphasized.  More importantly is the fortification of the core competencies of ethical integrity; customer focus; compassion; drive for results; decision quality; interpersonal savvy; dealing with ambiguity, and personal learning.
