Travel Writer Internship

We’re seeking a talented and engaging writer who has excellent time management skills and enjoys a professional (and fun) working environment. Adventure Guru, a socially conscious outdoor recreation startup, offers a chance to put what you learned in school to work. You will be part of a team that researches and writes descriptions for adventures that span around the world!    

Your responsibilities will include: 

·         Researching assigned outdoor adventures 

·         Researching accessibility for assigned adventures (access for people with disabilities)

·         Rewriting adventure descriptions 

·         Participation in internal client brainstorming sessions 

·         General travel/adventure blog post creation, office, and client support  

You are qualified to join our team if you have: 

·         Great research and writing skills  

·         Strong organizational and teambuilding skills 

·         Creative verbal and written communication skills  

·         Good grammar, spelling, punctuation, and attention to detail  

·         Proficiency in Word, Excel, WordPress, various Social Media platforms and PowerPoint  

·         Are ambitious and a self-starter 

AND 

·         You’re a junior or senior studying journalism, marketing/communications, travel/hospitality, or equivalent 

·         You are a recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in one of the above areas looking for hands-on experience 

·         You have equivalent life experience. 

BONUS 

We allow you to put your name on all your work in order to build your professional portfolio. Enroll in your school’s internship program to earn course credit. 

Timeframe:  We have positions available ongoing and can work with you to develop a schedule that works around your work or class session.
