Description

Ochoco Christian Conference Center is a non-profit organization, with the purpose of providing a place where people can come away from the everyday routine and grow in their relationship with Christ. This is done through groups hosting their retreats and individuals attending the summer youth camps we provide. The Camp Management Intern would begin with volunteering to serve a weekend guest group by assisting in the areas of cooking, serving, and cleanup of meals as well as observing the overall needs of a group during their retreat. The Intern would then work into assiting with other areas such as: camp store, housekeeping, invoicing, booking groups, maintenance, administration, social media, etc. There is opportunity to become involved on a deeper level as a camp counselor &/or program staff during the summer, or to delve further into other aspects of the business/ministry as the Intern's skills & interests develop.

Educational Aspect

The Intern would observe & assist with a wide variety of aspects related to the administration and implementation of running a non-profit business. This is a Christian ministry, but also must be run effectively and professionally on a business level. As such, there are many things to learn about managing employees & volunteers, contracting & invoicing, guest services, communication, legal requirements, preventative maintenance, and much more. There are only 2 full-time staff on site (with over 30 years experience in managing Christian camps), and we love to share what we've learned!

Further Requirements

It is our desire that the potential Intern would be a Christian who is interested in growing in their walk with Christ and in serving others.
